BCBS to Pay for 98943 on same day as other CMT code
After much negotiation between the BCBS and the MAC Legal Affairs and Insurance Relations teams, BCBS has reversed an internal payment policy that bundled extra-spinal adjustment code 98943 within other specified chiropractic manipulative treatment codes (98940, 98941, or 98942). For claims processed beginning in January 2024, extra-spinal adjustments on the same day as another CMT will be eligible to receive separate reimbursement.
