MAC Screening Program / Social Media Campaign
The MAC, in conjunction with our strategic partner the Michigan Department of Community Health (DCH), has developed a health screening program designed to put MAC doctors in the spotlight and spread the word about chiropractic. The program provides MAC members with exposure at high profile health events in their communities, and helps create many public relations opportunities.
At these events, teams of MAC doctors perform screenings using MyMACWellness health screening iPads, which run the latest postural analysis software. The doctors also perform BMI and blood pressure checks, which are encouraged by DCH through its revolutionary “4 x 4 Program.”
The “4x4” program aims to improve the health of Michiganders by making them aware of four key health measures (BMI, blood pressure, cholesterol level, and blood glucose level) and urging them to practice four key healthy behaviors (maintain a healthy diet, engage in regular exercise, get an annual physical examination, and avoid all tobacco use and exposure).
The MAC and the PR Committee have a leading role in promoting the 4X4 Plan through our health screenings program. DCH looks to the MAC to be a leader in getting the message out at local health fairs across the state.
Doctors who participate in the screening program also receive a free Facebook advertising campaign, provided by the MAC. Many of the doctors who have been involved have commented that this is the greatest social media campaign they have participated in. The free Facebook advertising, which targets FB users within 20 miles of the doctor’s practice, has gained members more than 16,000 views from potential patients in their region!

WorkSafe is the MAC’s spinal health and ergonomics training program that introduces hundreds of Michigan workers to the healing power of chiropractic care every year. WorkSafe has obtained State of Michigan Consultation Education and Training (CET) Grants for more than 10 consecutive years. A collaboration between the MAC and MIOSHA, WorkSafe is offered to businesses with 100 employees or less in the fields of manufacturing, nursing home and residential care, wholesalers of nondurable goods, landscaping, and warehousing and storage.
